Choosing A Gazebo
It's a known fact that your best investment today is the one you make in or around your own home. It's also a known fact that the more time you spend in your own backyard the more you're going to want to spend time landscaping it and making it an oasis for you and your family. With the high cost of gasoline and travel more and more families are opting to spend their vacation time around their homes. Today's homeowners think of their backyards as extensions of their home. They create these extra rooms with decks, patios and gardens. Another great way to enhance your backyard is to add a free standing structure such as a gazebo or pergola. Everyone knows what a gazebo is. It's a roofed structure that's open on all sides. Some people refer to them as pavilions. A classic gazebo is an octagon, or an eight sided structure. However gazebos are also available in rectangular and oval shapes. They can be made out of a wide variety of materials, pressure treated wood, pine, cedar, metal, bamboo (such as mai-tiki), vinyl, steel, aluminum and even wrought iron. Some gazebos are portable with canvas covers or canopies over them. Some people like to use gazebos around their hot tubs or spas. Hot tub and spa gazebos are very popular. Some like to have them screened in for ultimate bug less comfort. Top of the line gazebos can be customized with working windows and screens. Gazebos make a lovely addition to a garden and can become the focal point of your backyard landscaping. A gazebo build on top of your patio will make your patio able to be used no matter the weather. The beauty is that gazebos can be easily built to any size to fit any landscaping need. Those who can do-it- yourself will also find building gazebos fairly easy to do. A simple internet search will give you lots of gazebo designs and building plans for free. Most do-it-yourself sites have lots of information on how to build a gazebo. You can also have a custom gazebo built by many reputable companies, such as GazeboCreations, CedarStore, Amish Country Gazebos, Spirit Elements, and Bella Vista. These custom built gazebos can be setup and installed directly on your site or can be delivered to you in easy-to-assemble kit form. Less expensive gazebos are the Sunhouse metal Gazebos which are sold through Sam's Club, and Garden Treasures gazebos which are sold through Lowe's. Putting together your own gazebo from a custom kit can save you a lot of money. The kits come with all pieces pre- cut. Sections are marked, as are some individual pieces for ease of assembly. Even the upright frame pockets are pre-cut into the floor of most gazebos. On some gazebo kits the roof comes pre-shingled and cut to fit. |
